Thai cats (traditional Siamse) - came from the breed of siamse cats. In the 50's cat, that today is called Thai was a Siamse. Later on the standards of Thai was changing. Cats were becoming more slim with more triangle-shaped head and eyes situated more narrow. At the beginning of 90's some breeders decided to bring to life cats with traditional siamse features. To differentiate "new" siamse with "old" ones they became thai cats.
Thai cats features:
Size: average, 3-5 kilograms, well shaped body.
Head: rounded shape, despite the siamse with more triangular head.
Eyes: deep blue colour, light blue colour is a weekness for that breed. Eyes are situated more widely than in Siamse standard.
Nose: convex line profile.
Ears: medium size.
Coat: soft and delicate.
Colour: body is the cream-coloured, beige with a different colour o pointing on the head, ears, legs and tail. The most popular is a Seal-point. Apart from it there are point colours like: blue-point, red-point, chocolate-point or lilac. Each of them can appear as a tabby. Colour of a tai cat may change during the whole year. In a summer it becomes more light, but in a winter it darkens. Little kittens are born white and they become pointed gradually.
Character: more quiet and calm than Siamse. Theye are very social and friendly. Strangers are kept on the distance by them, but it is not always the rule. They get used to other inmates easily, also to animals.
